1. The Zoet Water Walk
The walk
4.5 km – that's what it takes to explore Zoet Water’s five freshwater ponds. Along the way, you'll catch a glimpse of the gorgeous baroque Our Lady of Steenbergen Chapel. The Minnebron, a natural spring, cheerfully burbles nearby. Legend has it that anyone who drinks from the spring will find their true love.

2. Provincial domain Het Vinne
The walk
The boardwalks in Provinciedomein het Vinne (Zoutleeuw) guide you past bird-watching huts on and around the lake. There are several signposted walks (< 5 km) to choose from. Het Vinne is the only natural inland lake in Flanders.

Walk over the water, climb the watchtower and play in the playground. There are several bird-watching huts around the lake, and it is possible to borrow binoculars at the visitor centre.
Your stay
At provincial domain Het Vinne, you have the opportunity to camp in the wild. You sleep on the north side of the lake, in the middle of nature. There are three places for a small tent. Groundwater comes out of the pump and in the evening you can cosy up by the fire ring. Don't expect a luxury stay, but real nature experience. Staying overnight is free, advance booking is required.

3. Webbekoms Broek Walk
The walk
The Webbekoms Broek Nature Reserve is where you'll find the captivating flood plains of the Demer and Velpe Rivers, on the outskirts of Diest. Plus, you get to explore the city's historic ramparts and stroll through an eclectic patchwork of flower-strewn meadows, reed beds, and willow groves. Choose your trail: 3.3, 4.7, or 9 km of walking fun!
